What storage means here
Cookies are small values that a website can ask a browser to store and send back with later requests. localStorage is a separate browser facility that keeps values on a device; it is not automatically sent with page requests. Our preference control uses localStorage, not an HTTP cookie.
The site’s own scripts do not set tracking cookies, embed third-party media or contact analytics services. The message-writing tool does not save the text you enter in localStorage. Any clipboard copy or downloaded message is managed separately by your device.
The preference record
If you choose “Save essential only,” the site stores the key cedarwhirlbantr-cookie-preference with the value essential-only. Its sole purpose is to remember that choice on this browser. It contains no name, email address or unique visitor identifier and is not sent by our scripts to a server.
There is no automatic expiry in the site code. The value remains until you clear it, your browser removes it or you use the clear button on this page. The choice does not transfer to another browser or device. Private browsing may discard it when the session ends.
Clearing and blocking storage
You can remove the preference with the control on this page or your browser’s site-data settings. Blocking localStorage does not prevent reading the guides. If storage is unavailable, the controls will explain that the choice could not be saved.
Clearing this preference does not remove files you downloaded, text held in your clipboard or email you sent separately. Manage those through your device or email application.
External destinations and future changes
When you follow an external link, the destination’s own cookie and privacy rules apply. If optional storage is introduced here in future, this information must be updated and any required consent obtained before that storage is used.
